NEW  Members in Palestine extend IACLE’s reach in Middle East

IACLE has established a presence in Palestine for the first time, with Dr Liana Labadi (pictured left) – Head of Optometry at An-Najah National University in Nablus – and Dr Ithar Beshtawi (right) becoming members. IACLE President Dr Shehzad Naroo travelled to Palestine in March with his colleague at Aston University in Birmingham, UK Dr Frank Eperjesi. The trip was funded by an EU Erasmus Mobility grant. ‘IACLE has committed members there who are very active although working in difficult circumstances. We hope to continue our collaboration with them,’ said Shehzad. In April, Dr Labadi and Dr Mohammad Shehadeh (Head of Ophthalmology at An-Najah) are visiting Aston University to further links with external partners.
