Damon graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Optometry in 1989.
Damon owns and manages the specialist contact lens and general optometry practice, Ezekiel Eyes, in Perth, Western Australia. Ezekiel Eyes specialises in vision rehabilitation through contact lenses. Damon is also a contact lens consultant to various research organisations.
He regularly lectures and conducts workshops in contact lens practice throughout Australia, Asia and the United States. In particular, Damon teaches the fitting of all types of rigid gas permeable contact lenses, including Orthokeratology and scleral lenses, soft bifocal, multi-focal and cosmetic contact lenses.
In 2014 Damon taught at the Vietnam National Institute of Ophthalmology in Hanoi, on behalf of the charity organisation Sight For All.
In February 2017 Damon visited the Eye Clinic of the Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. On behalf of Sight For All Charity Damon was teaching and fitting various types of rigid contact lenses to local eye care practitioners.
Damon treats patients with conditions such as Keratoconus, as well as those who are post graft and post refractive surgery. He also regularly treats children following operations for congenital cataracts.
In Washington DC September 2018 Damon was inaugurated as President of the International Society of Contact Lens Specialists. Also at this Congress, Damon and was awarded the prestigious Herschel Medal, given “in recognition of outstanding original contributions to contact lens design techniques and of fitting and application in clinical practice, in the education of students and in the advancement of the status of contact lens practice”.
In January 2019 Damon was a co-founding member of the Euro-Asian Scleral Lens Academy (EASLA).

- Design principles and when to use Scleral lenses
- How to fit these lenses
